Entrance Exam Description

During the selection process we examine the competency of the applicant in two ways:
The faculty decides about the eligibility of the applicant by examining the documents of previous studies (degree, subject, results). This is followed by an entrance exams that evaluate the level of study-language and basic subjects depends on speciality.
The exams can be conducted online. In order to validate the entrant’s person, exams taken remotely are recorded on video, as is the person verification process. The recording is archived for at least five years on University’s grounds and the link to that recording is available in the united base of Ministry of Education of Ukraine.

Program Structure

Semester 1 – Foundations of Crisis Psychology
- Introduction to Crisis and Extreme Situations Psychology – key concepts, history, and applications.
- Human Behavior in Stressful Situations – understanding psychological responses under pressure.
- Psychological Assessment Methods – tools for evaluating stress, trauma, and resilience.
- Research Methods & Academic Writing – skills for analysis, reporting, and thesis preparation.
- Elective 1 – options such as Cognitive Psychology, Social Psychology, or Emergency Management Fundamentals.
This semester provides a strong foundation in crisis psychology, human behavior, and research skills.

Semester 2 – Applied Skills in Crisis and Emergency Situations
- Crisis Intervention Techniques – methods for immediate psychological support in emergencies.
- Trauma and Stress Management – strategies for preventing and treating psychological trauma.
- Organizational and Team Psychology – supporting teams and organizations in high-risk environments.
- Applied Case Studies / Simulations – practical application of theory in real or simulated crisis scenarios.
- Elective 2 – options such as Occupational Psychology, Conflict Resolution, or Counseling Techniques.
Students apply psychological theory in practice, learning to support individuals and teams during crises.

Semester 3 – Capstone and Master Thesis
- Psychological Support in Extreme Situations – advanced strategies for high-risk or emergency contexts.
- Emerging Trends in Crisis Psychology – innovations, digital tools, and evidence-based approaches.
- Leadership, Ethics, and Professional Development – developing ethical practice and leadership in crisis management.
- Master Thesis / Applied Research Project – research or practical project demonstrating mastery in crisis psychology.
This semester integrates learning, allowing students to apply skills in real projects and complete their thesis.

Overview

The program trains students to understand, analyze, and provide psychological support in high-stress, emergency, and crisis environments. Students learn crisis intervention, stress management, trauma psychology, emergency response, and human behavior under extreme conditions. The program develops analytical, practical, and interpersonal skills, preparing students to support individuals and teams in critical and emergency situations.

Career Opportunities

Graduates can work as crisis psychologists, emergency response counselors, trauma specialists, occupational psychologists in high-risk industries, consultants for government or NGOs, and researchers in extreme psychology.
