Entrance Exam Description
During the selection process we examine the competency of the applicant in two ways:
The faculty decides about the eligibility of the applicant by examining the documents of previous studies (degree, subject, results). This is followed by an entrance exams that evaluate the level of study-language and basic subjects depends on speciality.
The exams can be conducted online. In order to validate the entrant’s person, exams taken remotely are recorded on video, as is the person verification process. The recording is archived for at least five years on University’s grounds and the link to that recording is available in the united base of Ministry of Education of Ukraine.
Program Structure
Semester 1 — Foundations: Safety & Risk Theory + Transport Context
- Industrial & Technogenic Safety Principles — you learn basics of industrial safety: what hazards exist, how accidents happen, how to assess and mitigate risk, what safety standards are.
- Transport Systems & Infrastructure Safety — study how transport works (air, road, rail) and what unique safety and environmental risks are tied to transport infrastructure, vehicles, traffic, logistics.
- Risk Assessment, Hazard Analysis & Prevention Methods in Transport — learn how to analyze potential hazards (accidents, environmental, technical), assess risk, plan prevention strategies and emergency protocols.
- Legal, Regulatory & Safety Standards for Transport & Industry — understand laws, regulations, compliance requirements, safety norms and procedures for industrial and transport safety.
Semester 2 — Applied Safety, Systems & Environmental Protection in Transport
- Industrial / Environmental Safety in Transport Enterprises & Infrastructure — applying safety principles to real transport companies or infrastructure: airports, terminals, logistic hubs, maintenance facilities.
- Safety Management Systems & Quality‑Assurance in Transport Industry — building and managing safety systems, implementing quality control, checking compliance with safety regulations for transport operations.
- Emergency Planning, Safety Maintenance & Crisis Management — how to prepare for emergencies (accidents, disasters), emergency response planning, accident investigation, safety drills, contingency planning in transport context.
- Transport‑specific Safety Challenges: Hazards from Vehicles, Cargo, Logistics and Infrastructure — study unique safety problems in transport: cargo hazards (flammables, heavy goods), maintenance of safety in handling, logistic flows, vehicle safety, environmental hazards.
Semester 3 — Specialization, Practice & Master’s Thesis / Project
- Practical Training / Internship or Safety Audit Project — you might practice in real transport / logistics / infrastructure company, perform safety audits, risk assessments, or environmental & industrial‑safety checks.
- Research Methods for Safety and Risk Assessment — learn how to conduct research, analyse safety data, model risk scenarios, and produce scientific or technical safety documentation.
- Master’s Thesis or Final Project in Transport Safety — final work could be: design of a safety/ risk‑management system for transport infrastructure; analysis of industrial hazards; safety improvement plan for a transport enterprise; or research into environmental & safety standards implementation.
Overview
This MSc trains you to ensure safety and minimize risks in transport‑related industries, focusing on technogenic (man‑made hazard) and industrial safety. You learn how to identify, assess, and manage industrial and environmental risks associated with transport systems — including accidents, hazardous processes, and infrastructure safety. The programme combines engineering knowledge with safety standards, risk assessment, environmental protection and regulatory practices tailored for transport and industrial contexts. The goal is to prepare professionals who can ensure safe operation of transport systems, protect people and property, and help manage emergencies or industrial accidents in transport-related contexts. By completing this course, you are prepared to help make transport systems safer and more resilient.
Career Opportunities
After graduation you can work as a safety engineer or safety‑management specialist in transport companies, logistics firms, airports, rail or road transport enterprises — ensuring industrial and environmental safety, compliance with safety standards, risk prevention and accident analysis. You may also join regulatory or inspection bodies, safety auditing firms, certifications and quality‑control departments focused on transport safety and industrial safety standards. Your expertise will be valuable in planning, maintaining and monitoring safe transport operations and infrastructure — which is critically needed in many countries.
