Entrance Exam Description

During the selection process we examine the competency of the applicant in two ways:
The faculty decides about the eligibility of the applicant by examining the documents of previous studies (degree, subject, results). This is followed by an entrance exam (written and oral). The exam can be online, if in person is not possible. The Exam will consist of subjects from your high school and will test your basic knowledge of these subjects along with a english proficiency exam.

Program Structure

1. Academic Foundation & Educational Standards.

Computer Engineering is offered under the "Computer Systems and Networks" educational program within UzhNU’s Faculty of Engineering. This follows Ukrainian national standards approved by the Ministry of Education and Science.

2. Core Curriculum Components.

The undergraduate curriculum includes a comprehensive mix of theoretical and applied disciplines, such as:

- Fundamental Sciences: Discrete Mathematics, Linear Algebra, Mathematical Analysis, Probability & Statistics.
- Core Computing Topics: Computer Architecture & Logic, Computer Electronics & Circuitry, Computer Systems Design, Data Structures & Algorithms, Programming (Object-Oriented, Functional, Systems), Operating Systems, System Programming, System Software.
- Networks & Security: Computer Networks, Information Protection in Computer Systems, Fundamentals of DevOps (emerging practice).
- Software & Applied Technologies: Software Engineering, Web Design & Web Programming, Computer Graphics, Hardware Description Languages.
- Utilities & Professional Skills: English Language, Professional English, Ukrainian Language, Life Safety, Economics & Organization of Information Business.

3. Elective & Specialized Modules.

Students can further tailor their studies with electives such as: Parallel & Distributed Computing, Digital Signal Processing, Testing & Diagnostics of Hardware and Software, Computer Tools for Signal Processing, Theory of Information and Coding.

4. Educational Approach & Future Readiness.

Computer Engineering is an interdisciplinary field that covers computer science and electrical engineering. The program of the Bachelor of Computer Engineering includes courses on electronics, hardware design, as well as mathematics and physics, along with operating methods, which includes communicative systems, etc.

After completing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, specialists are equipped for a career as a computer hardware engineer or a software engineer, including a computer systems analyst.
