Department of General Practice (Family Medicine) Defines Long-Term Goals and Strategic Priorities During Strategic Planning Session

The Department of General Practice (Family Medicine) at Bogomolets National Medical University held a strategic planning session to define its long-term goals, key priorities, and shared vision for future development. The event focused on identifying strategic directions for the department’s growth, strengthening team collaboration, and fostering a unified approach to its future activities.

The strategic session marked an important step in shaping the department’s long-term development strategy and creating a platform for open professional dialogue among faculty and staff members.

The session was opened by the Head of the Department, Professor Iryna Voloshyna, MD, PhD, who emphasized the importance of strategic planning in addressing the contemporary challenges facing medical education and Ukraine’s healthcare system. She highlighted that the department’s future development should be built on open professional communication, strong teamwork, and a commitment to implementing modern educational and clinical approaches in primary healthcare.

During the session, participants discussed the current state of the department’s development, the key challenges facing modern medical education, opportunities for enhancing the educational process, advancing research activities, and supporting the professional growth of academic staff. Particular attention was given to the role of family medicine within Ukraine’s healthcare system and the need to adapt educational approaches to meet the evolving demands of primary healthcare.

The department expresses its sincere gratitude to Rector Yurii Kuchyn for supporting the initiative to conduct the strategic session and for promoting the development of modern management approaches within the university environment.
